Xanadoodz Description:

Guitar: Steven Smith

Originally from Chicago, I came to San Diego in ’96. Been listening to Rush since I picked up the guitar in 1978. The debut album, 2112, Hemispheres, Farewell To Kings, Permanent Waves, and Moving Pictures were in heavy rotation back then. I cut my teeth on those records and learned a lot about tone, soloing, and interesting chord choices. (Relearning some of those songs 30+ years later, I discovered I didn’t always get Alex’s chords quite right. Damn you!) But hey, Rush is a journey of self-discovery. Always interesting. Always a challenge. And pretty much a blast.

Drums: Robert Sedano

Been playing drums most of my life, been part of several projects Originals and covers, big progressive music fan and a HUGE Rush fan.

Bass & Keyboard: Isamu Kakitani

Playing bass with prog rock bands since 1980. Originally from Kyoto, Japan, I came to San Diego in 1999. I’ve been a huge RUSH fan since high school. My favorite albums are Power Windows and Hold your Fire for their interesting use of synthesizers. I also like Dream Theater, Genesis, Yes, King Crimson and many classic prog rock bands.

Vocals: Dave Rice

A 4th grade barbershop quartet began the mayhem, though, we’re still waiting for the Seville. I remember singing, on the Joy bus. Then there was Chorus and Acapella in high school. We’ll leave the little drummer boy part, out. There was the high school rock band, that was over, before it began. The east coast rock band, that was too drunk to play a full gig. There was the Jimmy Dean/True Value Country Showdown, when I won a local competition, and competed at the Ohio St. Fair, but we’ll leave out the part about it being… Country Music. I don’t recollect, 2-tone Garth Brooks button-up shirts, are for me. Did a few songs with “Restless” at an American Heart Assoc. charity thing.
“Diary of Oz” Randy Rhoads tribute band, 2005
“Going Blind” Rock & Metal covers 2006
“Fault Line” Rock & Metal covers 2011
“Xanadoodz” RUSH tribute, at present.
